Great story, beautifully presented! The world is weird when you’re a kid, especially at that awkward age. Grown ups are strange creatures and not infrequently frightening. Your story captured that perfectly.

Thanks, Liz! Very glad it struck a chord with you. The world is always weird, I think, and kids just happen to notice it more often than we do––or at least it seems that way to me. Again, thank you.

Really enjoyed your story, David. It reminded me of a Halloween of my own as a teen, where I was the the creepy one.

Thanks, Bernie! Glad you enjoyed it, and that it resonated with your own Halloween's-past.

Nice performance :) I remembered so much of this story because its details felt so *right*-- but all amplified by your reading :)

Disturbing, David! It's always scary when adults don't make sense.

Thanks, Lyndsey! You're right––adults don't make sense a lot of the time. It's just that sometimes they're a little scarier when they're (not) doing it. ;-)
